About the programme

The International Foundation Programme in Science (Pharmacy)* is designed to prepare you for success at undergraduate level. You will study a range of tailored modules, including Foundations of Biology, Foundations of Chemistry, and Mathematical Principles, which develop the knowledge and skills needed for your chosen degree. Classroom teaching is interactive and supportive, helping you build essential academic and study skills.

Please note that the Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) is issued under a Single CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies) arrangement. This means the CAS covers the International Foundation Programme in Science (Pharmacy) only. After successfully completing the programme, you will need to apply for a new visa to continue onto your degree programme. A minimum English language level of IELTS UKVI 6.0 overall, with no component below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification, is required. A UKVI SELT is mandatory for this course in accordance with the Student Route visa policy.

For MPharm (Hons) Pharmacy: IELTS UKVI 6.0 overall (with no component below 5.5) or equivalent. UKVI SELT required.

Academic entry requirements:

Students need to achieve GCSE/IGCSE with minimum 5 subjects, including Maths at grade 4 or equivalent.
 
Each application will be considered individually and assessed on their ability to succeed on the International Foundation Programme.

Minimum age requirement:

Student must be 18 years of age within three months of starting the programme.

Students joining in 2026 年 1 月 have the opportunity to progress to following pharmacy and health-related undergraduate degrees, including:

*Places on this course are limited and subject to meeting entry criteria of 75% average and 75% in the foundations of chemistry module, a minimum IELTS of overall of 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in each element or an accepted equivalent and successful pass of all interview tasks onto the programme.
